I spend a lot of time looking for patterns on Pluto. Small patterns are like small puzzle pieces, the more of them you collect and have to assemble the more complete the final image.
Combining many seemingly unrelated and different pattern pieces can meld together to create a homogeneous picture.
The important thing for me is not to let little patterns become a primary focus rather joining the pieces such that the sum of the parts develops a total picture greater than any of the individuals parts.
In other words, the goal is to see the big picture not get lost in the small parts but without the small parts, assembling an accurate big pictures becomes difficult.
We need both without putting too much focus on either in order to obtain cohesion within our interpretations.
I'm going to hit you with lots of puzzle pieces, perhaps we will then be able to assemble them into a larger picture.
Recently (less than 700 million years) Pluto/Charon were in an eccentric elliptical shared orbit created by Neptune which caused them to heat each other via tidal flex energy.
This recent heating via flexing created the conditions for fluids to exist on Pluto and Charon. F. Nimmo agrees that Pluto and Charon were in high initial eccentric orbits but he's aligned with the mainstream mindset of all things happening 4 to 4.5 billion years ago hence we diverge on this point.
Ammonia hydrates prove Charon's southern hemisphere and the four small moons are extremely young.
The available information indicates tidal flex heating did occur and was not an ancient process rather it was quite recent.

Shrodinger lunar crater with layered ring patterns is similar to the rings we see at Mordor.
Charon was experiencing internal pressure from tidal flex like a shaken can of CO2 soda or beer when it's north pole was impacted. The impact at Mordor blasted chunks off Charon's southern hemisphere via compression waves and cracked Charon like an egg spilling out its softened underbelly.
Some of the chunks knocked off Charon went into orbit and are now called Hydra and Kerberos. The crazy spin rates of each small moon, their poles not aligning with Pluto/Charon's poles, their bright reflectance the presence of ammonia hydrates and the red tholin zit on Nix all say these moons are very young. They are less than 20 Myr old likely less than 500 thousand years based on Charon's surface being heated to greater than 90 degrees kelvin in the past 100,000 years.
Some of Charon's Chunks were pulled by Pluto's gravity directly toward it which impacted on the side facing Charon.
Pluto's subsurface fluids spilled into the southern pits leaving a cavity or caldera like an open mouth of a volcano st SP. The fluid continued to pour into the SP basin/caldera from the NW and up from below. There are many polygonal convection cells lined by lower troughs on the surface of SP similar to lava lakes in a caldera on Earth. SP is a collapsed crustal basin 2 miles deep slowly writhing with warmed nitrogen.
Fluid flowing from the NW Venera Terra area is currently flowing into SP breaking off crustal ice blocks. This process has also created cryovolcanoes.
Along the North Western edge of SP, fluids flow south and east creating river deltas and wave patterns in the soft nitrogen ice.
The Western North edge of Sputnik Planitia has cryovolcanoes on the land ice while the Western South edge has more of a roiling look within the nitrogen ocean.
All this subsurface roiling and churning has created these cryovolcanoes along the Western North edge of SP.
The pressure being applied to this land mass is creating ridge line of fold mountains further inland.
The fold mountains have mounds with mouths spilling fluids out of them like cryovolcanoes creating tributaries rivers and lakes of gray fluid.
Moving east from SP the uplands aka wetlands begin to wring moisture out of the foggy wet atmosphere flowing it back into SP. This process dries the air creating long penitente icicles further inland to the east.
This land surface east of SP has no impact craters so it is renewed quickly and must be soft yet icy rigid.
Tartarus Dorsa is bulging upward from subsurface pressures with expansion fractures lining the mounds of mountains leading north to the mouth of the spider. Tall ice spikes called penitentes lean southward in this area from arid south blowing winds.
The large pits created at the south of SP by compression waves from Charon's shards exist as the result of bits of Pluto getting knocked off the surface crust. This led to low orbital debris which we call Styx and Nix.

Some of Charon's shards fell back onto the surface as the fluid was hardening this left a fossilized record behind with loads of angular shaped imprints and debris on the southern hemisphere.
This sent compression waves through the southern hemisphere as well as surface ripple waves across Pluto kicking out fragments at the southern section of Sputnik Planitia which is directly opposite Charon. This kicked bits off Pluto placing Styx and Nix in a low orbit also creating deep pits along SP south edge.
NW of Sputnik Planitia is Venera Terra which in past years was in a fluid state from the warm underground nitrogen. Don't some of these impact craters look like they punched completely through the ice crust sinking into the fluid below? This suggest to me the crust here is thin and relatively young.
The creation of the southern pit caused the warm fluid from Venera Terra to migrate underground past Piri Planitia under Viking Terra and into Sputnik Planitia where it mostly settled but also rushed to fill in the deep pit south of SP it has also migrated east of SP creating the highlands or wetlands.
Along with breaking off large ice blocks, the flowing fluid has also created river delta looking patterns with waves frozen into the nitrogen mix contained within SP.
Subsurface fluids flow from the NW to the SE while soft surface ices migrate atop SP and flow from the SE to N. This creates a churning effect in this northern section of SP similar to rip tides on earth. Whirlpools exist along the NW area while Eddy's exist on the NE area and a river delta along with land ice blocks separating around the N by NW section demonstrate the constant activity in this area.
Just south of the volcanoes along the Western South edge of SP fluid is bubbling up and outward from the land ice breaking off ice blocks which are carried south by the primary current down to the pit creating the iceberg mountains at Norgay Montes.
These current's push massive icebergs southward into a land zone that is crater free and soft like mud. The two mile high icebergs are compressing the mud into 2 mile high mounds as the fluid creeps inland like a slow tsunami.
To the south of SP at the night day terminator line we can see fog which is created by SP. The moisture (CH4, N2, CO) in this fog is wrung out like a wash cloth as the fog climbs up the uplands cools condenses then flows back into SP.
To the south eastern side of SP fluid flows off the uplands or wetlands back into SP creating a scene that looks similar to Niagara Falls.
At the center of the spider is another cryovolcano which was created by underground pressures pushing the land up creating extensional fractures leading to this central point of subsurface pressures.
The red tholin impact on Nix was from a tholin covered object launched off Pluto which collided with this larger chunk of Pluto crust. It took Pluto a long time to develop the tholin on its surface then a piece was catapulted into space along with Nix and they eventually collided to create this zit.
