Since today is April Fools day, it seemed like a good time for this page.
Is Pluto a cosmic joke?
Consider these light hearted fun facts.
Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930 and a vial of his ashes were sent along with New Horizons to visit Pluto. This makes his remains the farthest from earth ever and he's going further out.
An eleven year old girl named the planet (after the god of the underworld).
Pluto was a Roman god of the underworld similar to the Greek god Hades (hell is supposed to be hot yet Pluto is frozen, perhaps hell has frozen over).
Pluto (the god) is associated with power and wealth and bringing up treasures from below such as gold, jewels and gems but also wisdom and knowledge (Sputnik Planum is welling up information and geologic diversity).

Walt Disney named his cartoon dog after the planet Pluto and look how closely Tombaugh Regio looks like the dog Pluto.
Upon initial approach to Pluto we noticed Tombaugh Regio looked like a heart (the place where Pluto's heart beat creates so much geological diversity. This is the fluid that gives Pluto life. |
Pluto was our ninth planet and got demoted to dwarf planet status by the IAU while New Horizons was en route to explore and learn more about the planet which has stirred conflict and controversy.
Seems to me there's some kind of cosmological joke being played on us.
I don't know whether to laugh or scratch my head in bewilderment.

Seems Pluto has cats and puppy dogs as well.
